ALBUM REVIEW: CULTS | CULTS

Cults self titled debut album may approach the average listener as a cliché romanticised indie record - yet it’s more that. The New Yorkers – couple Madeline Folin and Brian Oblivion have achieved much critical acclaim for a record that surfaces with joyous vocals backed by xylophones, jazz influenced bass lines, catchy guitar interventions and quirky drums. It isn’t much of an instant classic, but it holds a nostalgic feel making the listener reminisce of the ‘XX’
